Luton Town 4-1 Wycombe Wanderers

Wycombe Wanderers travelled to Luton Town on Saturday 3rd September 2016 for a League Two match in the hope of winning some desperately needed points.

Luton went ahead in the tenth minute with a goal from Danny Hylton scored from a cross by Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu. Danny Hylton scored again in the fifty sixth minute with a shot from the centre of the box straight into the centre of the Wycombe goal.

In the sixty third minute Matt Bloomfield kept Wycombe’s hopes alive with a fine shot into the bottom right corner of the Luton net. However Danny Hylton scored a third for Luton converting a penalty in the eighty eighth minute.

There was still time left for Luton to go 4-1 up when Jordan Cook scored in the ninetieth minute sending Wycombe home without the points they so desperately needed.

Luton managed to get fourteen of their nineteen shots on goal on target compared to Wycombe who could only manage to place four of their nine shots on target. The possession stats show Luton with 52% and Wycombe with 48% however when it comes to fouls Wycombe committed thirteen fouls to Luton’s nine.

After losing again Wycombe continue their abysmal start to the season by sinking to twenty second position in League Two with just five points from six games.

The attendance at Kenilworth Road was 8,097 (530 supporters from Wycombe).
