Residents are being urged to get creative and draw their vision of The Rye including potential new visitor facilities they would like to see at the popular park in High Wycombe.

A special ‘Draw Your Rye‘ event will be held by the boathouse on The Rye between 2.00pm and 5.00pm on Saturday 24th September 2016. The event will encourage visitors and residents to sketch or paint their ideal version of the Green Flag Award-winning park.

The event is part of feasibility work commissioned by the High Wycombe Town Committee and is being undertaken by Wycombe District Council about potential new facilities which could be added to The Rye.

HWTC Chairman Cllr Tony Green said: ‘We have listened to residents and commissioned this feasibility study to find out what potential new facilities visitors believe could enhance The Rye even further.

I am looking forward to see what people can come up with at the drawing workshop, which not only promises to be a fun event but it will also help the committee and the council see the vision of The Rye as imagined by our residents.

Drawing materials will be provided at the workshop but residents can bring along their own if they would prefer. Residents who are unable to attend the event can still share their views via a questionnaire available at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/The_Rye until Saturday 24th September 2016.
