Wycombe Wanderers 1-0 Exeter City

Saturday 1st October saw Exeter City pay a visit to Adams Park for a League Two match.

The first half was evenly matched with both sides having chances, but failing to take them. After just eighteen minutes Paul Hayes came close to scoring for Wycombe but his headed shot sailed over the crossbar.

At half time the score was goalless but Wycombe came out for the second half with added determination to win the match. In the eighty fifth minute Adebayo Akinfenwa scored the goal that sealed the match for Wycombe.

Wycombe managed 55% possession and made eight shots on goal, one on target, compared to three shots on goal for Exeter of which just one was on target.

The match saw twenty five fouls, ten by Wycombe players and fifteen by Exeter.

Today’s win sees Wycombe move into fifteenth place in League two with fourteen points from eleven games.

The attendance at Adams Park was 3,297 (270 from Exeter).
