Woman dies in fatal collision on the A404 Amersham Road at Little Chalfont on Boxing Day

A woman died in a collision involving four cars on A404 Amersham Road, Little Chalfont around midday on Boxing Day, Monday 26th December 2016.

An 81 year old woman who had been a passenger in one of the vehicles involved in the collision was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.

A man and a woman sustained injuries in the collision and were taken to hospital for treatment after firefighters freed them from the vehicles in which they had been travelling.

The road was closed while the emergence services dealt with the aftermath of the collision and carried out an investigation, however the road has since reopened.

So far no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. Thames Valley Police have launched an appeal for witnesses to the collision.

Investigating officer PC Jordan Johnstone of the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing, said: ‘This incident has very sadly resulted in the death of a woman, and our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time.

I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who has any information which could relate to it, to come forward and contact Thames Valley Police by calling the non-emergency number 101.

Firefighters were called to the scene at 12.16pm. One fire appliance with crew attended from Amersham fire station, one from Chesham fire station and one from High Wycombe fire station. Two officers also attended. The police and ambulance services were also present.
