Lorry trailer caught fire on the M40 between Handy Cross and Stokenchurch

A lorry trailer caught fire on the Northbound carriageway of the M40 between Junctions 4 (Handy Cross) and Junction 5 (Stokenchurch) during the late afternoon of Sunday 15th January 2017.

Firefighters were called to the incident at 4.08pm. One fire appliance with crew attended from High Wycombe fire station, one from Marlow fire station and one from Beaconsfield fire station. An officer also attended.

A hose reel, two sets of breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera were used during the operation to extinguish the fire.
