Wycombe Wanderers 1-2 Carlisle United

Carlisle United were the guests for a League Two match with Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park on Saturday 18th February 2017.

Wycombe Wanderers made a cracking start to the game when, in just the second minute, Adebayo Akinfenwa gave them the lead with a headed goal.

Carlisle fought back and drew level in the ninth minute when Jamie Proctor scored with a right footed shot that found the bottom right corner of the Wycombe goal.

Reggie Lambe scored a second goal for Carlisle in the thirty fourth minute.

Wycombe tried valiantly to level the score but were unable to do so.

The match stats show that despite losing the game Wycombe were actually the more dominant team. Wycombe achieved 56% possession and placed five of their nineteen shots on the Carlisle goal on target. Only two of the visitors five shots on goal were on target however the two shots converted into match winning goals. The game saw thirty two fouls, seventeen by Wycombe players and fifteen by Carlisle.

The Wanderers now drop further away from the play off positions to ninth in League Two, with forty six points from thirty one games. However the Blues do have a game in hand.

The attendance at Adams Park was 3,858.
