Grimsby Town 1-2 Wycombe Wanderers

The match started briskly with both sides making chances to score however it was Grimsby who notched up the first goal in when, in the seventeenth minute, Callum Dyson scored from the penalty spot after Sam Wood fouled a Grimsby player in the Wycombe penalty area.

Wycombe drew level in the sixty seventh minute when Danny Collins put the ball into the back of his own net.

In the seventieth minute Wycombe won a free kick when Luke O’Nien was brought down by Chris Clements. Paris Cowan-Hall converted the free kick with a shot that curled into the top corner of the Grimsby net in the seventy first minute.

During the match Wycombe managed 54% possession, of their fourteen shots on goal three were on target. Grimsby placed six of their twelve shots on goal on target. The match saw twenty seven fouls, twelve by Grimsby players and fifteen by Wycombe players.

After today’s game Wycombe climb to tenth position in League Two, still out of the play off zone, with fifty points from thirty five games.

The attendance at Blundell Park was 4,668.
