8% increase in use of Wycombe Homeless Connection night shelter

In 2017 the emergency night shelter run by Wycombe Home Connection saw 8% increase in use compared to the figures for 2016.
The 2017 emergency night shelter, which ran from January 2017 to March 2017, provided 857 bed nights of shelter.
The numbers of shelter guests and bed nights were both up 8% suggesting that rough sleeping in High Wycombe is even more present now than it was in 2016.
In the 2017 season the emergency night shelter :
- Gave 41 individuals somewhere warm and safe to sleep as well as a nourishing dinner and breakfast to see them through the day ahead.
- Had 857 bed nights, which means the night shelter provided 857 nights of shelter for all the guests combined.
- Had the capacity to take twelve rough sleepers on any one night. The 2017 shelter averaged a rate of 80% occupancy or around ten guests per night.
