Robbers strike at bookmakers in Desborough Road, High Wycombe

A robbery at a bookmakers in Desborough Road, High Wycombe has prompted a witness appeal by Thames Valley Police.

On Monday 1st May 2017, at around 9.20pm, two men entered Coral bookmakers in Desborough Road.

One of the men, who was possibly armed with a knife, demanded a female member of staff to give them money from the safe and tills. Both men then left on foot towards the direction of West End Road.

Police Constable James Wood, of Force CID based in High Wycombe, leading the investigation said: ‘It was fortunate that nobody was hurt in what was obviously a disturbing incident.

We want to speak to anyone who would have been in the vicinity of Coral bookmakers on Monday night or was a customer within the store at the time of the offence.

Police have arrested a 27 year old man from London on suspicion of robbery in connection with this incident.

Thames Valley Police are appealing for anyone who may have any information that could help with their enquiries to please call the police non-emergency number 101 quoting reference ‘1437 1/5’.
