Motorcyclist dies following collision with car on the A413 at Amersham
A motorcyclist died following a collision with a car on the A413 at Amersham on Friday 26th May 2017.
Shortly before 7.30pm officers from Thames Valley Police were called to the A413 road leading between the A355 Gore Hill and the A413 London Road East following reports of a collision involving a black Hyundai estate car and a black BMW motorcycle.
Firefighters also attended the scene of the collision. At 7.33pm one fire appliance with crew was despatched to the incident from Amersham fire station as well as one from Beaconsfield fire station. An officer attended. The firefighters assisted Thames Valley Police and South Central Ambulance Service.
The male rider of the motorcycle sadly died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by a family liaison officer.
The driver of the car, who was the only occupant in the vehicle, was taken to hospital with minor injuries and has since been discharged.
The road was closed until 2.00am on Saturday 27th May 2017 while Roads Policing officers worked to establish the circumstances of the collision.
Thames Valley Police have launched an appeal for witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw the vehicles travelling prior to the collision.
On Saturday 27th May 2017 a 33 year old woman from Aylesbury was arrested by officers from Thames Valley Police on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs.
