Woman seriously injured in ‘acid attack’ on Frogmoor, High Wycombe

A woman sustained serious injuries after a liquid was squirted onto her as she sat on a bench in Frogmoor, High Wycombe during the afternoon of Saturday 3rd June 2017.
At about 4.50pm officers from Thames Valley Police were called to the incident by the ambulance service following reports that a 47 year old woman had sustained burns after a liquid, which could have been acid, was thrown at her in Frogmoor.
The woman had been sitting on a bench when a group of three men approached her. One of the men squirted a liquid onto her before the group of men left the scene.
As a result of the incident the woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment where she remains.
Officers from Thames Valley Police are carrying out an investigation into the incident, following the incident a scene watch was put in place.
Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Matthew Kent, of High Wycombe Force CID, said: ‘This is clearly a distressing incident, in which a woman has sustained serious injuries.
We believe that these injuries could have been caused by acid being thrown onto the victim.
Although I understand that this incident will cause concern for people, I would like to reassure the public that we are carrying out a full and thorough investigation, and that officers are at the scene while this takes place.

At 6.06pm firefighters were called to the scene to give assistance to officers from Thames Valley Police and the South Central Ambulance Service. One fire appliance with crew attended from High Wycombe fire station, one from Amersham fire station and two from Bicester fire station. Four officers also attended.
