Collision in Chalfont St Giles claims life of man

A man died following a road traffic collision in Chalfont St Giles on Saturday 16th September 2017.

The collision occurred at around 6.40am Nightingales Lane, Chalfont St Giles when a blue Subaru Impreza collided with a tree. The driver of the car, a 26 year old man from Little Chalfont, was the only occupant of the vehicle and sadly died at the scene.

Police closed the road was until 11.45am to allow investigation and recovery work to take place.

The family of the deceased have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers from Thames Valley Police.

Investigating officer, PC Colin Riley of Thames Valley Police Joint Operations Unit, based at Amersham, said: ‘Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this very difficult time.

We are appealing for witnesses and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the Subaru on Nightingales Lane prior to the collision.

Anyone with information should call 101 quoting URN 273 16/9/17.

At 6.40am firefighters were called to the incident. One fire appliance with crew attended from Gerrards Cross fires station as well as one from Amersham fire station. The firefighters assisted Thames Valley Police.
