Man arrested in connection with theft of car after taking it for a test drive in High Wycombe

Police have arrested a man in connection with a robbery in High Wycombe in which a car was stolen after being taken for a test drive.
Shortly before 6.00pm on Wednesday 13th September 2017 a man in his twenties took an unknown man out for a test drive in his silver Mercedes Benz E250 CDI.
The test drive started from Berkeley Road in Loudwater and then continued around High Wycombe before returning to Berkeley Road.
After the test drive was over both men got out of the vehicle however the owner of the vehicle was then assaulted by the man who had test driven the car who proceeded to take the vehicle.
The owner of the car tried to stop the offender taking the vehicle however he ended up on the bonnet and was carried along the A40 for a short distance. The owner then fell off the car and the offender drove off. The owner of the vehicle sustained bruising to his face and scratches.
The car was seen to travel along the A40 towards Beaconsfield until the junction with Watery Lane in Wooburn Green.
On Tuesday 26th September 2017 police arrested an 18 year old man from High Wycombe on suspicion of robbery. He has been released under investigation.
