Buckinghamshire County Council by-election result for Beaconsfield seat

Anita Cranmer (Con) has won the by-election for the Beaconsfield seat on Buckinghamshire County Council.

The Beaconsfield seat became vacant following the death of Alan Walters MBE on Sunday 3rd September 2017.

The full results of the by-election, which took place on Thursday 2nd November 2017, were as follows :

Anita Cranmer won the by-election with a majority of 999 votes.

Anita and husband George have five children and eleven grandchildren. She taught at Wycombe High School for six years and for eight years was a district councillor for Hedgerley and Fulmer. Anita is a town councillor and Deputy Mayor for Beaconsfield.

Returning Officer Gill Quinton said: ‘Everyone uses the County Council’s services in some way every day and I’m pleased Beaconsfield residents have exercised their democratic right to choose the person they want to represent them and to help make important decisions about millions of pounds of public services provided across Buckinghamshire.

Following the by-election the 49 seats on Buckinghamshire County Council are made up of 41 Conservatives, 4 Liberal Democrat, 2 East Wycombe Independents, 1 Labour and 1 Independent.
