Man who sexually abused elderly vulnerable woman in High Wycombe sentenced to 9 years imprisonment
A man has been jailed for sexually abusing an elderly vulnerable woman in High Wycombe.
On Thursday 16th November 2017, at Amersham Crown Court, Winston George, aged 57, of Chairborough Road, High Wycombe was sentenced to nine years imprisonment.
Following a four day trial the jury unanimously found Mr George guilty of one count of penetrative sexual activity with a mentally disordered female.
On the afternoon of Tuesday 12th April 2016 Mr George visited the home address of the victim, a vulnerable elderly woman with dementia, who he had known for a number of years. He was a trusted visitor to the home but he abused that trust by having sexual activity with the victim.
During the offence he was disturbed by a family member who called the police. Police arrested Winston George at the scene and following an investigation he was charged on Wednesday 7th June 2016.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Kay Dickinson of Force CID based at Wycombe police station, said: ‘This was a distressing case to deal with for all those involved.
The victim was extremely vulnerable because she had dementia which rendered her unable to refuse sexual activity with Winston George.
Sadly, since the offence the victim has died but I am satisfied that justice has been done for her and her family.
I want to thank the victim’s family for their support, the witnesses who gave evidence, the Crown Prosecution Service for bringing the case to court and the jury who listened to all the evidence and delivered a unanimous guilty verdict.‘
