Wycombe Wanderers 4-0 Crawley Town
Crawley Town visited Adams Park for a League Two match against Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday 18th November 2017.
With Wycombe in the play of zone and Crawley near the foot of the League Two table the match was always going to be very interesting.
The first attempt on goal came from Crawley in the eighth minute however Josh Payne’s shot was too high. Two minutes later Thomas Verheydt forced a save from the Wycombe keeper.
Although both sides had chances, the first half did not see many attacking moves from either side and the score was still goalless at half time.
Eberechi Eze broke the deadlock in the fiftieth minute with a right footed shot from the centre of the box which found the bottom left corner of the Crawley goal.
From that point on Wycombe were the more dominant team. Wycombe scored a second in the seventy second minute when Craig Mackail-Smith shot into the top left corner.
Craig Mackail-Smith hammered home a third goal for Wycombe in the eighty first minute when his shot from outside the box sailed into the top right corner of the goal.
Two minutes later, in the eighty third minute, Craig Mackail-Smith completed a hat-trick this time the ball found the bottom right corner of the goal.
A hat trick in eleven minutes was too much of a hiding for Crawley to recover from and the score remained in Wycombe’s favour by four goals to nil.
The Wanderers achieved 65% possession during the game with seven of their ten shots on goal on target. Crawley could only manage to get two of their eight shots on target. The game saw thirty two fouls, this being sixteen from either side.
Following today’s game Wycombe climb one place to sixth in League Two with thirty points from eighteen games.
The attendance at Adams Park was 4,494 (175 from Crawley).
