Man seriously injured in M40 collision involving a HGV and three cars

On Monday 18th December 2017 a man was seriously injured when a HGV and three cars collided on the M40.

The collision occurred at around 6.58am between Junction 1 and 1a of the M40, close to the Denham roundabout and exit slip road to the M25.

A 47 year old man from London who was driving of one of the cars, a black Mercedes, was seriously injured during the collision. He was taken to the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford in a serious but stable condition.

The other drivers were uninjured. The other cars involved were a blue Audi and a white Volkswagen Caddy.

Investigating officer PC Stuart Holt, of the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing, said: ‘I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who has any information which could assist our investigation and who has not yet spoken to the police.

The driver of the lorry, a 49 year old man from Iver, was been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving while over the prescribed drug limit and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.
