A dementia friends community session will be held in Speen, Buckinghamshire on Wednesday 18th April 2018.
Organised by Ashridge Home Care, the event will be held in Speen Church, Chapel Hill from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
The event is designed to highlight the impact of a family member with dementia or Alzheimer’s and to provide people with information about what support and guidance is available.
The event will include a talk from Sally Blackden, an expert in the field of dementia, who will help answer any questions you many have.
Trudi Scrivener, from Ashridge Home Care, will also be on hand to also communicate what support is available to families and to share her expertise, from funding to care options.
Trudi said: ‘It is very important to raise the profile of care in the community and give people the knowledge they need to make such important decisions about and with their loved ones
Dementia is something that will touch all our lives at some point and this event is a brilliant opportunity to ask the questions you’ve always been afraid to, in an informal environment. (With plenty of coffee and cake!)
Previous attendees found the event valuable and insightful, with many making pledges about their take away from the day and how to improve communication and care in their communities‘.
