A drop-in card making workshop is to be held at Butterfly House, The South Bucks Community Hospice in High Wycombe.

Organised by international crafting company Stampin’ Up! The three hour workshop will take place from 10.00am on Wednesday 16th May 2018.

Research has shown that crafting has a positive impact on mental wellbeing as it aids relaxation and mindfulness[1]. The aim of the event is to provide an opportunity for some respite for the dedicated and hardworking carers, volunteers and staff at Butterfly House. Members of the public who are interested in learning how to make cards are also welcome to attend.

Butterfly House provides palliative care, lymphoedema care, emotional and practical support, and complimentary therapies to help patients’ physical, emotional, physiological and spiritual wellbeing.

Paula Gorry (picture above), Demonstrator Development Manager for Stampin’ Up!, comments: ‘At Stampin’ Up!, we have a long and proud tradition of supporting philanthropic causes, and giving back to the community is one of the company’s core values.

With this drop-in workshop, our aim is to offer some ‘time out’ for the wonderful carers, families and patients at Butterfly House by engaging them in an enjoyable, creative activity, which had well-documented benefits for mindfulness and relaxation.

We’re really looking forward to what promises to be a fun-filled day at Butterfly House and can’t wait to help sow the seeds of creativity with our hands-on approach!
