Pioneering cardiology nurse consultant and angiographer shortlisted for NHS70 Windrush Awards

A pioneering cardiology nurse consultant and angiographer at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust has been shortlisted for NHS70 Windrush Awards.

On Tuesday 12th June 2018 Ghazala Yasin (pictured above), cardiology nurse consultant and angiographer, will be flying the flag for Buckinghamshire Healthcare at the NHS70 Windrush Awards ceremony in the Rising Star Innovation category.

The category recognises innovations which have led to improvements in healthcare; they have led to improved experience and outcomes for patients, users of services or carers.

Ghazala said: ‘I am delighted to be shortlisted for the NHS70 Windrush awards. To have my work recognized and shortlisted for this award is a very humbling and exciting experience. I would like to thank my fabulous colleagues and Cardiology team at Buckinghamshire Healthcare for enabling me to achieve this.‘

Ghazala is one of only a few nurse angiographers in the UK.

The Windrush 70 awards will celebrate the contributions of black and minority ethnic (BME) contributions to the NHS, from the Windrush generation of 1948, the south Asian arrivals in the 1960s and 70s, to the202 nationalities represented in the NHS workforce today.
