Charlton Athletic 3-2 Wycombe Wanderers
Wycombe travelled to Charlton Athletic on Saturday 8th September 2018 for a League One match.
Wycombe started the game in a determined mood. In just the seventh minute Randell Williams scored for Wycombe with a shot from outside the box which found the bottom left corner of the Charlton goal.
In the sixteenth minute Randell Williams nearly scored again however his shot was saved as it made its way towards the bottom right corner of the goal.
The Chairboys kept pressing making numerous opportunities. However Charlton drew level in the thirty second minute through an own goal by Sido Jombati.
At half time the scores were level, however during the first half the Blues were by far the more dominant team.
The second half started much as the first half had left off. Half way through the second half Charlton started to push looking to secure victory. They took the lead in the seventy first minute through a close range shot from Lyle Taylor which found the bottom left corner of Wycombe’s goal.
Charlton took a two goal lead when, following a set piece situation in the eighty eighth minute, Naby Sarr shot from the centre of the box with the ball found the bottom left corner of the net.
Wycombe fought back and in the ninetieth minute Paris Cowan-Hall header a second goal for Wycombe.
The match finished as a win for Charlton by three goals to two. Following today’s game Wycombe drop to eighteenth place in League One with six points from seven games.
