Thames Valley Police to take part in national knife surrender

Thames Valley Police are taking part in a national knife surrender and week of action to challenge and reduce the threat of knife crime.

The knife surrender, part of Operation Sceptre, will run between Tuesday 18th September 2018 and Monday 24th September 2018.

During the knife surrender members of the public will be able to safely dispose of any type of knife or bladed article at any of the participating police stations.

The aim of the operation is to remove dangerous weapons from the street, reduce knife crime and raise awareness of the dangers and consequences of carrying a knife.

Officers will also be holding a number of activities during the week, which will include the use of knife detection arches and engagement with schools and retailers.

Knife surrender bins have been placed in the front counters of the following police stations in Buckinghamshire :

  • Amersham
  • Aylesbury
  • High Wycombe
  • Milton Keynes
