Serious road traffic collision in Iver leaves 31 year old woman with leg injuries

A serious road traffic collision in Iver has left a 31 year old woman with leg injuries.

On Saturday 3rd November 2018, at around 6.30pm, a white Ford Transit van overtook another vehicle in a 30mph zone on Bangors Road South, Iver, Buckinghamshire.

A short time later the Transit van crossed to the wrong side of the road and collided head on with a white Kia Picanto. The 31 year old woman driving the Kia sustained serious leg injuries.

The Transit then struck a red Mercedes which was travelling behind the Picanto following which the driver of the Transit van then got out of the vehicle and ran off.

The driver was located nearby by Police officers and was subsequently arrested.

The driver of the Picanto was taken to Wexham Park Hospital with serious, but not life threatening leg injuries. The driver of the Mercedes was not injured.

Investigating officer PC Tom Smith of the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing based at Amersham, said: ‘I am very keen to speak to anyone who saw the van prior to the collision, or who witnessed it, to call the 24-hour non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 43180336305.

I am also keen to hear from anybody who may have dash-cam footage at around that time to make contact.

Police have arrested a 47 year old man from Slough in connection with the incident on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drink and driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level is above the limit. He has been released under investigation.
