Robber wearing balaclava threatened woman, 60, with knife during robbery at bookmakers in Chesham

A robber wearing a balaclava and carrying a knife struck at a bookmakers in Chesham on Thursday 27th December 2018.

At around 9.30pm a man wearing a balaclava ran into the Betfred bookmakers store in the High Street, Chesham. He produced a knife towards a member of staff, a woman in her sixties, and tried to take money from the staff member’s hand. The woman suffered slight bruising and a scratch to her hand during the robbery.

The member of staff resisted, however the offender fled the shop with a small amount of cash.

The robber is described as a white man in his late twenties, of a slim build and around 5ft 8ins tall. He had fair hair, and was wearing a green balaclava.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Hannah Davison, of Aylesbury Force CID, said: ‘We are appealing for witnesses to this incident which was a scary experience for the victim.

We are appealing for anyone who saw or heard something that could help us with our investigation.
