Wycombe Wanderers travelled to Barnsley for a League One match on Saturday 16th February 2019.
Wycombe started strongly making several shots on the Barnsley goal in the opening few minutes of the match. However in the twelfth minute Luke Bolton fouled Barsnley’s Mike-Steven Bähre in the penalty area. Cauley Woodrow duly converted the penalty a minute later giving Barnsley the lead.
At half time Barnsley were still in the lead by a solitary goal. In the sixty fourth minute the home side took a two goal lead through Cauley Woodrow who shot from the centre of the box into the top right corner of the Wycombe goal.
Wycombe tried their best but were unable to score, with thirteen minutes of injury time to be added on at the end of the second half it was looking as if Wycombe would be losing the game by two goals.
In the fifth minute of injury time Wycombe were reduced to ten men when Adam El-Abd was shown the red card for violent conduct.
However Wycombe kept pressing looking to at least score one goal.
In the tenth minute of injury time Luke Bolton was fouled by Barnsley’s Ethan Pinnock in the penalty area. Joe Jacobson stepped forward to take the penalty and duly converted with a shot to the bottom right corner of the Barnsley net.
The game ended as a victory to Barnsley by two goals to one.
Following today’s game Wycombe drop one place to eleventh in League Two with forty three points from thirty three games.
