Bus stop closures and diversions for the week ahead – Mon 18th Feb 2019

Week commencing Monday 18th February 2019 the following Bus Stop closures and diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Bus Diversions

Church Street, Marsh Gibbon : Thursday 29th November 2018 to Friday 15th March 2019. Due to Thames Water main replacement works this road will be closed and route 18 will need to divert. The nearest served bus stops are on Bicester Road, alternatively passengers can wait on Millfield Avenue and hail clearly to the driver.

High Street, Cheddington : Friday 11th January to Monday 25th February 2019. Due to Anglian Water works the junction of Wellington Place and Cheddington Road in Pitstone bus route 164 will need to divert via Ivinghoe. All stops will be served except on the High Street, Cheddington. Passengers are advised to use the stops at ‘The Green’ instead, due to the length of the diversion some delay may be expected.

Quainton Road, Waddesdon : Monday 21st January to Monday 18th February 2019, 9.30am to 3.30pm (not weekends). Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire footway surfacing this road will be closed. Bus route 16 will divert via Waddesdon High Street and Station Road. Passengers using the stops on Quainton Road are advised to use either ‘the Lion’ or the ‘Baker Street’ stops in the High Street instead.

Cressex Road, High Wycombe : Monday 21st January 2019 to Friday 3 May 2019. Due to road configuration works this road will be closed on either side of the Cressex link/Coronation Road junction during this period. School day bus routes 643 and 655 will need to divert via the A4010 and the stops on Cressex Road between New Road/John Hall Way and the Marlow Road junction will not be served.

The Broadway, Chesham : Sunday 10th and Sunday 17th February 2019. Due to Cadent Gas works the Sunday Carousel 1A buses will not serve the Broadway stops on these two Sundays. The nearest alternative stops are on Broad Street or Red Lion Street.

Lavric Road, Aylesbury : Monday 11th to Friday 15th February 2019. Due to Thames Water works this road will be closed and routes 11 and 11A will need to divert via Ellen Road, Hannon Road and Churchill Avenue. Stops will not be served on Alham Road or Lavric Road. The 11A will additionally not serve the ‘Hampden Gardens’ and ‘Carrington Road’ stops on Churchill Avenue. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Chalgrave Walk’ stop on Churchill Avenue for routes 9 or 11, or opposite the shelter on Ellen Road (hail clearly for the bus).

Castle Street, High Wycombe : Friday 15th February to Friday 1st March 2019. Due to Cadent Gas works the outbound (towards Amersham Hill) side of the carriageway will be closed. As such buses will not serve Stop V. Buses will divert via Corporation Street, High Street and Crendon Street.

Nash Road, Thornborough : Monday 18th to Wednesday 20th February 2019. Due to Western Power Distribution works this road will be closed and bus route 151 will need to divert. As such it will not be able to serve the stop on Nash Road and passengers are advised to use the stop on the ‘Green’ instead.

Chartridge Lane, Chartridge : Monday 18th to Friday 22th February. Due to Cadent Gas works this road will be closed and buses 77, 177 and 190 will need to divert as follows.

• Service 77: will serve Berkeley Avenue and then will return to Chesham via Chartridge Lane (calling at the stops for the Service 177/190 when required).
• Service 177 & 190: will serve leave Chesham via Hyde Heath and terminate at Cogdells Lane, Chartridge and vice versa.
• For stops to Pednor, please see Service 77. Unfortunately the following stops on Chartridge Lane will not be served at all: ‘The Warren’, ‘Buslins Lane’, ‘Old Sax Lane’, ‘The Bell PH’.

Mursley Road, Swanbourne : Monday 18th to Wednesday 20th February 2019. Due to Western Power Distribution works this road will be closed and route 50 buses will need to divert on these days. As such Z&S Transport route 50 will operate a revised timetable and will not be able to serve Swanbourne on these days.

Buckingham Road, Steeple Claydon : Wednesday 20th to Friday 22nd February 2019. Due to Western Power Distribution works prat of this road will be closed during these days. Bus route 18 will divert via North End Road and not serve the stops on Queen Catherine Road / Chaloners Hill.

Bryant’s Bottom Road, Bryant’s Bottom : Thursday 21st February 2019 to Wednesday 6th March 2019 (except weekends). Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire re-surfacing works this road will be closed and buses will divert. On Friday 22 February the 333/334 will not be able to serve Great Hampden or Bryants Bottom.

From Monday 25th February 2019 to Wednesday 6th March 2019 buses will serve Speen as usually then travel up Great Hampden Road, turning left at Pink Road and then back into High Wycombe and Hughenden via Lacey Green and Naphill. Passengers are advised of the following (example times as for school times) :

• For passengers using ‘The Hampden Arms PH’ stops in Gt Hampden, they are advised to stop where safe on Hampden Road (between Bryant’s Bottom Road and the junction with Pink Road).
• Passengers boarding at Warrendene Road are advised to use ‘The Harrow PH’ stops on Valley Road travelling towards Speen at 7:21am.
• The Valley Road stops ‘The Harrow PH’ and ‘Trees Road’ will be served north bound only (towards Speen). Passengers are advised to either travel in this direction leaving ‘The Harrow PH’ at 7:21am or catch the bus from the opposite ‘Coombe Lane’ stops further along Valley Road.

Keates Lane, Eton : Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd February, 8am to 3pm. Due to this road closure route 15 will not serve Dorney during these times. The Friday 63/68 buses will serve route as normal until Dorney then divert via B3026 (Lake End Road) & A4 (Bath Road) and vice versa.
Bus Stop Suspensions

Rose Avenue, Hazlemere : Friday 15th to Thursday 21st February 2019. Due to BT Openreach works the stop outside Sir William Ramsay School will be suspended during these days. Passengers are advised to use the stop further along Rose Avenue (nearer the junction with Penn Road).

New Road, High Wycombe : Sunday 17th February. Due to Cadent Gas works the ‘Squirrel Lane’ stops will be suspended on this day. Passengers are advised to use the stops further along New Road or on Bookerhill Road.

A41 Bicester Road and Grendon Road, Kingswood : Monday 18th February 2019. Due to Thames Water works both ‘Crossroads’ stops will be suspended on this day. Passengers are advised to wait where safe outside the Traffic Management area and clearly hail for the bus to stop.

Lower Road, Aylesbury : Monday 18th February, 7.00pm to 6.00am 2019. Due to works on behalf of Thames Water, the ‘Ambulance Station’ stops will be suspended during this night. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Main Gate’ stop instead just inside the Stoke Mandeville Hospital entrance.

London Road, Great Missenden : Monday 18th to Wednesday 20th February 2019. Due to works on behalf of Virgin Media both ‘Chiltern Hospital’ stops will be suspended. Passengers are advised to wait where safe outside the Traffic Management area and clearly hail for the bus to stop.

Kingsmead Road, Loudwater : Monday 18th to Wednesday 20th February 2019. Due to works on behalf of BT Openreach both ‘St Peter’s Close’ stops will be suspended. Passengers are advised to use the stops further along Kingsmead Road near ‘Woodside Close’ instead.

Marlow Road, High Wycombe : Monday 18th to Friday 22nd February 2019. Due to works on behalf of Thames Water the stop towards the M40 (near the junction with Cressex Road). The nearest alternative stops are either the ‘Whincup Close’ stops further up Marlow Road (325 and PR1) or the stops on Desborough Road (158, 800, 850).

The Broadway, Amersham : Monday 18th to Friday 1st March 2019, 9.30am to 3.30pm Due to works on behalf on UK Power Networks Stop A will be suspended at these times. Passengers are advised to use alternatives on Whielden Street or Station Road instead.

Main Road, Naphill : Tuesday 19th February 2019 9.30am to 4.00pm. Due to works on behalf of Affinity Water both ‘Holly End’ stops will be suspended. Passengers are advised to use the alternative stops on Main Road near ‘Purssells Meadow’ or ‘Woodcock Avenue’.

Henley Road, Marlow : Wednesday 20th February 2019, 9.00am to 4.00pm. Due to BT Openreach works the ‘Spinfield Lane’ stop towards Henley will be suspended between these times. Passengers are advised to use the stop near Pound Lane further along Henley Road.

Exchange Street, Aylesbury : Wednesday 20th February 2019, 10.00am to 3.00pm. Due to Thames Water works the stop near Highbridge Walk will be suspended at these times. Passengers are advised to alight in the Bus Station instead.

Chalfont Station Road, Little Chalfont : Wednesday 20th to Friday 22nd February 2019. Due to works in the vicinity the eastbound ‘Railway Station’ stop will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the stop on White Lion Road instead.

Mount Nugent, Chesham : Friday 22nd to Tuesday 26th February 2019. Due to Virgin Media works the Chesham bound stop near the junction with Hivings Hill will be suspended. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Great Hivings Free Church’ stop on Upper Belmont Road.
