Wycombe Wanderers 0-1 Gillingham

| February 23, 2019

On Saturday 23rd February 2019 Gillingham played a League One game against Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park.

The first attempt on goal came in the sixth minute of the game when a header from Adebayo Akinfenwa missed to the left. Sadly this came to sum up the way Wycombe played for the rest of the match. Wycombe had many opportunities but they turned out to be misses, saved or blocked.

At half time the score was still goalless.

The second half was more of the same, however Wycombe were at least trying even if their attempts ended in failure. Gillingham had opportunities too but also failed to turn them into goals.

In the eighty third minute Regan Charles-Cook gave Gillingham the lead through a right footed shot from very close range, the ball finding the centre of the Wycombe goal following a cross from Brandon Hanlan.

The game ended as a victory to Gillingham by a solitary goal in what may not have been the most exciting of games.

Following today’s game Wycombe Wanderers have now lost three games in a row and find themselves in twelfth place in League One with forty three points from thirty four games.
