Robbers wearing balaclavas try to steal motorbike from Deliveroo driver in Micklefield Road, High Wycombe
Four robbers wearing balaclavas tried to steal a motorbike from Deliveroo driver in Micklefield Road, High Wycombe on Saturday 23rd February 2019.
The attempted robbery occurred at around 7.30pm when a Deliveroo driver was stopped by four men, one of whom had a knife, on two mopeds who tried to steal his motorbike.
The Deliveroo driver, a man in his thirties, managed to get away from the offenders by driving on the footpath. Nothing was stolen during the incident and he was not injured.
The robbers are described as four small men, two were wearing white balaclavas and the other two were wearing black balaclavas. They were driving two Yamaha mopeds which were dark grey.
On Saturday 16th February 2019 a similar robbery happened in Herbert Road at around 7.00pm. On this occasion, the victim, aged in his twenties, was making a Deliveroo order when he was approached by four men on two mopeds. The offenders threatened him with a knife and stole his moped. He was also uninjured following the ordeal.
Designated investigator Hannah Hargreaves of the High Wycombe area CID, said: ‘These incidents are very similar and currently we believe they could be linked.
We are appealing for witnesses to come forward, even if you believe the information you have may be insignificant.
If you saw anything suspicious in the area or you have details about either of these incidents, please get in touch.
We would also like to speak to anyone with CCTV or dash-cam footage in both these areas to help with the investigation.‘
