Police appeal for witnesses following two stabbings and a suspected firearm discharge in High Wycombe
An appeal for witnesses has been launched by Thames Valley Police following two stabbings and a firearm offence in High Wycombe.
On Wednesday 3rd April 2019, at about 12.20pm, police officers were called to an incident in Desborough Road, High Wycombe in which a 21 year old man had been stabbed.
On Thursday 4th April 2019, at about 12.05am, police officers attended Queens Acre (off Queens Road) in High Wycombe following reports that a 17 year old boy had been stabbed.
Both stabbing victims sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.
Later on Thursday 4th April 2019, at about 12.50am, it is believed that a firearm was discharged through the window of a property in Tenzing Drive, High Wycombe however nobody sustained injuries as a result of the firearms discharge.
Police believed the discharge of the firearm is linked to the previous two stabbing incidents.
Investigating officer, Detective Inspector James Mather, based at Aylesbury police station, said: ‘We have been conducting a thorough investigation into these incidents, which we believe are linked, and are working to locate those responsible.
Our officers are carrying out a full and comprehensive investigation which will continue until the perpetrators are identified and arrested.
I would like to appeal to anyone with any information relating to any to these incidents, to call Thames Valley Police on 101.‘
Superintendent Kevin Brown, local police area commander for Wycombe, said: ‘I understand that members of the public might be concerned about these incidents but I would like to reassure people that we believe that those involved are known to each other and there is no threat to the wider public.
People might also see an increased police presence in the area while these investigations take place. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to speak to them.‘
