Three parks in the Wycombe District awarded prestigious Green Flags for the year ahead
Three parks in the Wycombe District have been awarded prestigious Green Flags for the year ahead.
Hughenden Park in High Wycombe had a full inspection earlier in 2019, while Higginson Park in Marlow and The Rye in High Wycombe are both due a mystery shop later in 2019.
The parks are among a record breaking 1,970 UK parks and green spaces and 131 in 13 other countries around the world, that will received their Green Flags for the year ahead.
The international Green Flag award, now into its third decade, is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible environmental standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent visitor facilities.
Cllr Graham Peart BEM, Cabinet Member for Community at Wycombe District Council, said: ‘We are absolutely delighted to receive these Green Flag Awards once again.
We know how much quality green spaces matter to residents and visitors, and these awards celebrate the dedication that goes into maintaining our parks to such a high standard.
These three are our biggest stars. But we also have many popular smaller parks and open spaces throughout the district that we care for and improve to meet the needs of local residents.‘
