Man in serious condition in hospital following attempted murder in Chesham

An appeal for witnesses has been launched by Thames Valley Police following an attempted murder in Chesham.

On Thursday 18th July 2019, at around 1.00am, a man aged in his twenties sustained a stab wound to his leg and a serious injury to his ankle. The incident happened in Berkhampstead Road at the junction with Alexander Street, Chesham.

The victim was been taken to hospital and remains in a serious but stable condition.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector James Mather of Aylesbury Force CID, said: ‘We are in the very early stages of this investigation and we would like anyone who has details which may assist our enquiry to come forward.

If you saw this happen or think you have information about this incident, please contact police.

Anyone who has CCTV in that area or has dash-cam footage that could assist with this investigation is asked to come forward and share this with us.

The road was closed and has now re-opened.

We would like to reassure the community that we are treating this as an isolated incident and there will be more patrols in the area while officers carry out ongoing enquiries.
