Fire broke out in a field measuring 87,500sq.m. at Seer Green

Fire broke out in a field measuring 87,500sq.m. at Seer Green during the late afternoon of Tuesday 23rd July 2019.

The fire was in a harvested crop field measuring 350m by 250m (87,500 sq.m in total area) just off Longbottom Lane, Seer Green.

At 4.11pm firefighters were called to the incident. The following fire appliance with crews attended :

  • One from Beaconsfield fire station.
  • One from Amersham fire station.
  • One from Gerrards Cross fire station.
  • Two from High Wycombe fire station.
  • One from Maidenhead fire station.
  • One from Slough fire station.
  • One from Bracknell fire station.

Two officers also attended making the total number of fire fighters and officers at the scene more than 30 people.

Two main jets, two hose reels, water backpacks and beaters were used during the operation to extinguish the fire. Relief fire fighting crews will be taking over during the evening.
