Bus stop closures and diversions for the week ahead – Mon 5th August 2019

Week commencing Monday 5th August 2019 the following Bus Stop closures and diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Bus Diversions

Main Road, Naphill : Until further notice. Due to a burst water main this road is currently closed by Affinity Water. Towards High Wycombe the 300 buses after serving the ‘Grimms Meadow’ stop in Walter’s Ash will divert via Bradenham Wood Lane, the A4010 and West Wycombe Road and vice versa. As such stops in Naphill, Coombe Lane, Hughenden Valley and Hughenden Road will not be served. Update: Due to a second leak this looks likely to remain closed until Wednesday 7 August 2019.

A40, London Road/White Hill, Loudwater : Friday 26th July to Wednesday 7 August 2019, 7.00pm to 6.00am. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works buses will need to divert on these evenings. As such the ‘Tesco’ stops and the ‘Whitehouse Lane’ stops will not be served.

Mentmore Road, Cheddington : Tuesday 30th July and Tuesday 6th August 2019. Due to Anglian Water works the Tuesday only 167 service will need to divert on these days and will not be able to serve ‘The Green’ stops on New Street.

Chartridge Lane, Chesham : Wednesday 31st July to Tuesday 6th August 2019, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire this road will be closed. Buses will divert as follows:

• Service 77 : will be serve the Hail and Ride section around Poles Hill & Darvell Drive only and not continue beyond the ‘Lowndes Avenue’ stops towards Chartridge.
• Service 177 & 190 : will operate via Hyde Heath and terminate at the ‘Village Hall’ stop in Chartridge.
• Stops on Berkeley Avenue and on Chartridge Lane won’t be served between Lowndes Avenue and the Village Hall stop will not be served.

High Street, Edlesborough : Thursday 1st August to Tuesday 3rd September 2019. Due to highway works part of this road will be closed between Pebblemoor and Leighton Road. Towards Aylesbury after serving the ‘Playing Fields’ stop on High Street, buses will divert via Pebblemoor and Leighton Road before resuming their normal route (and vice versa). The ‘Combined School’ and ‘St Mary’s Church’ stops will not be served.

Whielden Lane/Penn Street, Winchmore Hill : Monday 5th to Wednesday 14th August 2019. Due to works by UK Power Networks the 73 bus will need to divert on these days. The buses will travel along the A404 and then left into Penn Street, after serving the stops at the Squirrel Public House, the buses will turn back round. As such the stops on Penn Street (after the Squirrel) and the stops on Whielden Lane will not be served.

Old Rectory Lane, Denham : Tuesday 6th August 2019. Due to works by Transport for Buckinghamshire the 581 buses will not be able to run along Old Rectory Lane on this day. As such the ‘Community Centre’ on Lower Road, High Denham will not be served.

Copperkins Lane, Amersham : Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th August 2019, 9.30am to 3.00pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed on these days. Bus routes 177 and 190 will divert and will not serve stops on Copperkins Road or the stops on Weedon Hill in Hyde Heath Village.

Penn Road/Forty Green Road, Knotty Green : Friday 9th August 2019, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire micro surfacing works these roads will be closed during this day (not at the same time – they will start at Penn Road and then move onto Forty Green Road) as such neither the stop Opposite the Red Lion on Penn Road or the ‘Village Hall’ stop will be served between these times.

Wycombe Road, Prestwood : Friday 9th August 2019, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire the Arriva 41 buses will need to divert via Little Kingshill. After serving Great Missenden buses will continue to Prestwood turning back round at Lodge Lane and Nairdwood Drive. As such stops between ‘The Common’ in Great Kingshill and ‘Hildreth Road’ in Prestwood will not be served during these times.

Bois Lane/Bois Moor Road, Chesham Bois : Friday 9th August 2019, 9.00am to 4.00pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works part of Bois Lane will be closed during these times. Bus routes 71 and 73 will need to divert from Chesham after serving Chessmount/Pheasant Rise the buses will turn back and travel along Amersham Road, then South Road before resuming normal route. As such stops on Bois Lane and Bois Moor Road will not be served.

Bus Stop Suspensions

A41, Aston Clinton Road, Aylesbury : Wednesday 17th July until Thursday 31 October 2019. Due to development and road layout works the two ‘Holiday Inn’ stops will be suspended for this period. The nearest served alternatives are the ‘Peugeot Garage’ or the ‘Bedgrove Lights’ stops.

Rose Avenue, Hazlemere : Thursday 25th July to Friday 16th August 2019. Due to Thames Water works the ‘Sir William Ramsay School’ stop towards High Wycombe will be suspended on these dates. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Rose Avenue’ stop near to the junction with Penn Road instead.

London Road, Aston Clinton : Monday 29th July to Sunday 25th August 2019. Due to Laxron Properties works both ‘Combined School’ stops will be suspended between these dates. Passengers are to use the ‘Bell’ stops instead.

Aylesbury Road, Bierton : Wednesday 31st July to Wednesday 7th August 2019. Due to Thames Water works the Aylesbury bound ‘Hulcott Lane’ stop will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Bell PH’ stop instead.

Botley Road, Chesham : Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd August 2019, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to BT Openreach works both ‘Broomstick Lane’ stops will be suspended at these times. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Lee Farm Close’ or ‘Grooms Cottages’ stops instead.

Lower Road, Stoke Mandeville : Monday 5th to Friday 9th August 2019. Due to Thames Water works the ‘Ranch House’ stop towards Aylesbury will be suspended on these days. The nearest alternative stop is the ‘Bell PH’ further along Lower Road.

Aylesbury Road, Rowsham : Wednesday 7th to Saturday 10th August 2019. Due to Anglian Water works the ‘Main Road’ stops from Aylesbury will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the Temp stop provided in place.

High Street, Aylesbury : Monday 5th to Friday 9th August 2019, 8.00am to 4.00pm. Due to works on behalf of UK Power Networks the H2 bus stop will be suspended at these times. Passengers are advised to use the stops on Exchange Street or New Street instead.

Straight Bit, Flackwell Heath : Wednesday 7th to Friday 9th August 2019, 7.00pm to 6.00am. Due to Thames Water works both ‘The Common’ stops will be suspended during these evenings. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Chapman Lane’ stops further along Straight Bit instead.

Red Lion Street, Chesham : Friday 9th to Sunday 11th August 2019, 9.30am to 3.00pm. Due to works on behalf of Virgin Media the Red Lion Street stop from Chesham will be suspended during these times. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Wild Rover’ stop on Amersham Road or the Broadway instead.

Gerrards Cross Road, Stoke Poges : Friday 9th to Friday 30th August 2019. Due to Cadent Gas works both the ‘Pennylets Green’ stops will be suspended during this period. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Sefton Park’ stops instead.

Beaconsfield Road, Farnham Royal : Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th August 2019. Due to works on behalf of O2 both the ‘Fairfield Lane’ stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use either the ‘Farnham Park Lane’ or the ‘Farnham Pump’ stops instead.
