Man stabbed following incident in a cemetery in Chesham

An assault in a cemetery at Chesham has resulted in an appeal for witnesses by Thames Valley Police.

On Wednesday 7th August 2019, at around 7.40pm, a man in his thirties was walking in a cemetery in Chesham. The man in his thirties encountered two men and a woman and a argument broke out which escalated.

The man in his thirties ran away and was chased by one of the men. The man in his thirties fell to the floor and was then stabbed in the buttock. The injuries required hospital treatment however they were non-life threatening injuries.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Nicholas Widdison, of Force CID based at Aylesbury police station, said: ‘We are investigating this assault in which a man was stabbed.

We have arrested three people in connection with this incident, but we are asking the public to come forward if they have information that could assist our investigation.

We would ask anyone who witnessed the assault or saw two men and a woman in Chesham cemetery shortly before 7.40pm on Wednesday to please get in touch.

Three people have been arrested in connection with the incident. A 39 year-old man, a 36 year-old woman and a 17 year old boy all from Buckinghamshire were all arrested on suspicion of GBH, they have all been bailed until Thursday 5th September 2019.
