Car engine caught fire on the M40
The engine of a car caught fire on the M40 during the morning of Tuesday 20th August 2019.
The vehicle was on the hard shoulder of the M40 between Junction 5 (Stokenchurch) and Junction 4 (High Wycombe).
Firefighters were called to the incident at 10.52am. One fire appliance with crew attended from High Wycombe fire station as well as one from Slade Park fire station in Oxford and one from Watlington fire station. An officer also attended.
Upon arrival at the scene the firefighters discovered that the fire was already out.
A hose reel was used to damp down the engine.
