Festive Elf Trail to be launched in High Wycombe on Thursday 21st November 2019
A festive Elf Trail will be launched in High Wycombe on Thursday 21st November 2019.
Run by High Wycombe Business Improvement District (HWBIDCo), the festive elf trail will see shops and cafés across High Wycombe invaded by a group of mischievous elves as part of a brand-new festive campaign.
The Cheeky Elf Christmas Trail will be officially launched during HWBIDCo’s Christmas Light festival on Thursday 21st November 2019. It will run throughout the Christmas period up to Tuesday 24th December 2019 and is aimed at encouraging families to explore what’s on offer at different retailers across High Wycombe town centre.
To take part, youngsters simply need to pick up a free ‘elf’ map and collect all ten elf stickers, with a different sticker available at each stop on the trail. A mystery festive word will be revealed once the stickers have been collected.
Participants can submit their completed maps online using the hashtag #CheekyElfTrail or via a magical elf post box that will be set up in the High Wycombe Library to be in with a shot of winning some fabulous festive goodies including a family jump pass to RUSH trampoline park.
Adults can also get in on the festive fun thanks to a series of free ‘trail treats’ available at featured retailers including Toys UK, Ruby Moon, La-Koco Coffee and The Christmas Café.
Discussing the thinking behind the festive trail, BID manager Melanie Williams said: ‘We really wanted to help create a sense of excitement around the town centre this festive season. With Christmas shopping trips on most people’s agenda over the next month or so, we’re thrilled to be able to provide a fun family activity to help keep the little ones amused over the Christmas break.
High Wycombe has some really fantastic shops, restaurants and cafés on offer to visitors, and our hope is that the cheeky elf trail will get families walking around the town and engaging with these retailers in a fun and positive way.‘
The festive elf trail is just one part of the larger Christmas campaign being run by this year by HWBIDCo, which also includes the annual Christmas Light festival set to take place on Thursday 21st November 2019.
During the run up to Christmas 2019 the BID, which represents businesses within the town centre, will be treating Christmas shoppers to a series of festive events including Christmas competitions and seasonal surprises in a bid to encourage people to spend local during the holiday season.
The campaign also includes the launch of a dedicated www.christmasinhighwycombe.com website aimed at promoting the town and showcasing the number of local events and offers available to shoppers and residents throughout the Christmas period.
Cheeky elf maps with be available to download or pick up from various locations across the town centre on Thursday 21st November 2019.
