Decision on creating town council for High Wycombe to be taken by Shadow Executive of the new Buckinghamshire Council
The decision on whether to create a town council and/or extra parish councils in High Wycombe is to be taken by the Shadow Executive of the new Buckinghamshire Council.
The findings of the recent public consultation on the Community Governance Review in High Wycombe was presented to a meeting of the Regulatory and Appeals Committee of Wycombe District Council held on Tuesday 17th December 2019.
In addition a final report, written by law firm Bevan Brittan LLP, was also received by the Regulatory and Appeals Committee. The report sets out a series of possible recommendations relating to the unparished wards of High Wycombe and their future governance arrangements.
Although it was Wycombe District Council who resolved to undertake the Community Governance review, because Wycombe District Council will be abolished after Tuesday 31st March 2020 and replaced by Buckinghamshire Council, the responsibility for deciding what happens next will rest with the Shadow Executive of the new Buckinghamshire Council rather than the predecessor council.
The creation of a town council for High Wycombe is just one of the options that is under consideration following the Community Governance review held earlier in 2019.
The report on the community governance review in High Wycombe will be considered at a public meeting of the Shadow Executive of Buckinghamshire Council to be held on Tuesday 7th January 2020.
