Children’s home run by Buckinghamshire County Council receives a ‘Good’ rating following Ofsted inspection

A children’s home run by Buckinghamshire County Council in Aylesbury has received a ‘Good’ rating in a recent Ofsted inspection.

The home, which provides accommodation and care for up to five children and young people with emotional or behavioural difficulties, was praised for the safe and supportive environment.

Inspectors reported: ‘Staff create a warm and nurturing environment where children can settle, grow and develop. Their insight and understanding in regard to the children’s individual needs enable the children to enjoy excellent relationships with them.

The report also highlighted the support staff, leaders and managers provide in meeting the holistic needs of children as well as being committed to helping children succeed in education and thrive in the future.

Leaders and managers are focused on providing a secure and stable base for children, to enable them to progress‘, the report states. ‘This approach demonstrates leaders and managers dedication to wanting the very best care and outcomes for children.

Cabinet Member for Children at Buckinghamshire County Council, Warren Whyte, said: ‘It is great to see such a high level of support is provided to children and young people at this children’s home.

These homes are vital for their well being and growth and we will continue to devote ourselves to ensuring children thrive in our care.
