Bus stop suspensions and service diversions for the week ahead – Monday 20th January 2020
Week commencing Monday 20th January 2020 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.
Bus Diversions
Link Road, Great Missenden : Monday 14th October 2019 to Saturday 29th February 2020. Due to works on behalf of the HS2 project this road will be closed in the westbound towards Great Missenden Station, as such the bus stop outside the Library will not be served and passengers will need to use the stops on the High Street instead. The eastbound closure dates will be confirmed on this page.
Edgcott, Calvert and Charndon : Thursday 16th, Friday 17th and Monday 20th January 2020, 9.30am to 3.30pm.
Due to works on behalf of East-West Rail routes 16 and 18 will have to divert on these days as follows:
Thursday 16th January 2020, road closed: Grendon Road, Edgcott.
- Service 16 – After serving Grendon Underwood, buses will divert via Marsh Gibbon and Charndon before serving stops in Calvert and Calvert Green. As such buses will not serve stops in Edgcott including the stops at HMP Grendon Springhill between these times.
- Service 18 – Unaffected.
Friday 17th January 2020, road closed: Perry Hill, Edgcott/Calvert.
- Service 16 – After serving Grendon Underwood, buses will divert via Marsh Gibbon and Charndon. As such buses not will not serve the stops in Edgcott (including HMP Grendon Springhill), Cotswolds Way in Calvert/Calvert Green or Brackley Lane in Calvert between these times. Buses will still serve the shelter on Werner Terrace, Calvert opposite the Brackley Lane junction.
- Service 18 – Buses will not serve stops on Brackley Lane and Cotswolds Way in Calvert/Calvert Green. Buses divert via Werner Terrace, Calvert instead and will stop on request at the shelter opposite the Brackley Lane junction.
Monday 20th January 2020, road closed: School Lane/Main Street, Charndon.
- Service 16 – The 9:28am from Marsh Gibbon will be unable to serve Charndon and will travel direct between via Steeple Claydon and Calvert before resuming normal route. The 1:56pm journey from Marsh Gibbon will divert via Steeple Claydon before resuming normal route at Calvert and will be unable to serve stops in Charndon.
- Service 18 – Buses will run direct between Steeple Claydon and Twyford and as such will not serve stops in Charndon, Calvert or Calvert Green between these times.
Bus Stop Suspensions
Station Road, Beaconsfield : Monday 6th to Friday 31st January 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works nearby both ‘Post Office’ stops will be suspended during this period. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Waitrose’ stops on Penn Road instead.
One Pin Lane, Farnham Common : Wednesday 8th to Friday 14th February 2020. Due to Cadent Gas works both the ‘One Pin PH’ stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Mayflower Way’ stops on One Pin Lane or the ‘Village Green’ stops on Hedgerley Hill instead.
Sheep Street, Winslow : Sunday 19th January 2020, 8.00am to 3.30pm. Due to Anglian Water works both ‘Bell Hotel’ stops will be suspended on these Sundays. Passengers for route 60 are advised to use the stops further along Sheep Street instead.
A413 Amersham Road, Chalfont St Giles / Chalfont Common : Monday 13th January 2020 to Monday 10 February 2020, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to works on behalf of HS2 both ‘Cherry Acre’ stops and the ‘Green Meadows’ stop towards Chalfont St Peter will be suspended at these times. The nearest alternative stops to ‘Cherry Acre’ are the ‘Misbourne Avenue’ stops and to the ‘Green Meadows’ stop the ‘Kings Road’ stops, all located on the Amersham Road.
Fowler Road, Aylesbury : Monday 13th January 2020 to Friday 13th March. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works road widening works as part of the Oxford Road corridor improvement scheme the ‘Fowler Road’ stop for journeys from town (nearest to the junction of the Oxford Road) will be suspended for this period. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Prebendal Farm Shops’ stop instead.
West Wycombe Road, High Wycombe : Monday 13th to Friday 17th January 2020. Due to Thames Water works both ‘Riverside’ stops will be suspended on these dates. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Brook Street’ stop for outbound journeys or the Bus Station instead.
Nashleigh Hill, Chesham : Tuesday 14th to Friday 17th January 2020. Due to works on behalf of Cadent Gas both ‘Preston Hill’ stops will be suspended on these dates. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Nash Arms PH ‘ stops on Berkhamstead Road instead.
Sycamore Road, Amersham : Wednesday 15th to Friday 17th January 2020. Due to works on behalf of Affinity Water stop E will be suspended on these dates. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Oakfield Corner’ stop on Hill Avenue instead.
Amersham Road, High Wycombe : Wednesday 15th to Friday 17th January 2020. Due to Thames Water works the ‘Maybrook Gardens’ stop for journeys away from the town centre will be suspended on these dates. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Amersham Hill Drive’ stop instead.
A40 London Road, High Wycombe : Saturday 18th January 2020, 8.30am to 3.00pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works the ‘Cricket Ground’ stop for journeys travelling away from High Wycombe will be suspended during these times. Passengers are advised to use the stop opposite Chestnut Avenue instead.
Greenway, Chesham : Saturday 18th January 2020. Due to Affinity Water works in the vicinity both stops along Greenway will be suspended on this day. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Hope Church’ stops on Upper Belmont Road instead.
A40 Wycombe End, Beaconsfield : Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th January 2020. Due to Affinity Water works the ‘Saracen’s Head’ Stop K for journeys towards High Wycombe will be suspended on these dates. Passengers are advised to use the stop on Aylesbury End instead (for route 101 the nearest served stop is the ‘Cricket Ground’ stop on London Road).
Chiltern Avenue, Amersham : Sunday 19th to Tuesday 21st January 2020. Due to works on behalf of Affinity Water both ‘Leisure Centre’ stops will be suspended during these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Green Lane’ stops on Woodside Road instead.
Tring Road, Aylesbury : Tuesday 21sth to Thursday 23rd January 2020, 7.00pm to 6.00am. Due to Thames Water works both ‘Holiday Inn’ stops will be suspended on these nights. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Peugeot Garage’ or ‘Bedgrove Lights’ stops instead.
Tacks Lane, Haddenham : Thursday 23rd to Monday 27th January 2020, 7.00pm to 6.00am. Due to Thames Water works the ‘Fort End’ stop from Thame will be suspended on these nights. Passengers are advised to use the stops on Woodway or Thame Road instead.
Totteridge Road, High Wycombe : Sunday 26th to Wednesday 29th January 2020, 7.00pm to 6.00am. Due to Thames Water works both the ‘Duke Street’ stops will be suspended on these nights. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Lucas Road’ stops instead.
