Bus stop suspensions and service diversions for the week ahead – Monday 23rd March 2020
Week commencing Monday 23rd March 2020 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.
There are a number of changes to Bus Services in Buckinghamshire due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.
As a result of staff shortages and the reduced demand for services during the ongoing pandemic some bus companies are making changes to their timetables as shown below. By clicking on the link you can view specific changes to the service provided by each operator.
Arriva Buses : All services revised please see above link for details and timetables.
Carousel Buses : From Monday 23rd March 2020 all services will operate their Saturday timetables on Mondays to Fridays with the following exceptions which will run to their normal timetables: 27, 36B, 39A, 577 (the 6.23am and 7.03am journeys from Hazlemere will not run), 580, 581, 582, BB11-18. Please note service X8 will not operate.
First Buses : From Monday 23rd March 2020 all services in Buckinghamshire will operate to their Saturday timetables on weekdays.
Red Eagle : From Monday 23rd March 2020, bus service 354 will operate to it’s Saturday timetable on weekdays.
Stagecoach : Revised X5 timetable from Monday 30th March 2020.
Star Travel : Services 3, 5 and 5A reduced to operate every 30 minutes.
Thames Valley Buses / Courtney Buses : Minor timetable change to 459 service. 8.38am from Heathrow will not run.
Winslow and District Community Bus : All services are suspended with immediate effect until at least the end of May 2020. This impacts the following routes: 54a,b,c, 67, 67a and 68, & WBOC (Buckingham).
Concessionary Bus Passes
In order to allow older and more vulnerable passengers to access early opening times at shops and other essential services Buckinghamshire County Council has asked all bus companies to allow holders of concessionary bus passes free travel at any time. This will come into effect on all local bus services in Buckinghamshire from Monday 23rd March 2020 and also with the following bus companies from Friday 20th March 2020:
- Arriva
- Carousel Buses
- Redline Buses
- Red Eagle Buses
- Red Rose Travel
- Star Travel
Real Time Passenger Information
Due to short notice timetable changes caused by the COVID-19 crisis, from Monday 23 March 2020 the Real Time Passenger Information will not be available to view on screens, apps or nextbuses.mobi. Once the new data is available these passenger infromationservices will be restored.
Bus Diversions
Maxwell Road, Beaconsfield : Monday 24th February to Sunday 3rd May 2020, 9.20am to 3.00pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire footway works Maxwell Road will be closed during this period. Stops on Maxwell Road will not be served. All services will divert between these times and passengers are advised of the following:
- Services 102 and 104 as well as Maxwell Road these routes will not serve stops on Aylesbury End, Station Road and Amersham Road. Please use the stops on Wycombe End, London End and London Road instead.
- Services 103 and 580 will divert via Ledborough Lane, please use the stops on Station Road instead.
- Service 377 will turn round at Aylesbury End / London End roundabout and will not serve the stop on London End or on Amersham Road.
- Passengers for the Beaconsfield Community bus can use the stops on Station Road.
School Lane, Seer Green : Wednesday 18th to Tuesday 31st March 2020, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire repairs this road will be closed at these times. As such service 580 buses will not serve the stops on School Lane, Chalfont Road and New Barn Lane will not be served. The nearest served stops will be the ‘Railway Station’ stops on Longbottom Lane and the ‘Twitchells Lane’ stops on Three Households.
Buckingham Road, Aylesbury : Monday 23rd to Thursday 26th March 2020, 7.00am to 7.00pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire repair works part of this road will be closed between the Elmhurst Road and New Street. Buses will divert via Cambridge Street, Bierton Road and the Elmhurst Road and vice versa before resuming their normal routes. As such bus services 2, 3, 6, 6A, 60, 153 and X60 will not serve the stops on Dunsham Lane, Buckingham Road, New Street, White Hill or Friarage Road.
Station Road, Quainton : Monday 23rd to Tuesday 31st March 2020. Due to works by UKPN this road will be closed. Bus route 16 will divert via the Unnamed Road, just past Crossroads Farm, and will enter Quainton via Lee Road and Lower Street. Stops between Lower Street and the Quainton Road will not be served. Nearest available stops are on The Green or Lower Road.
Park Road, Chesham : Friday 27th March 2020, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to repairs by Transport for Buckinghamshire this road will be closed between these times and the two stops along here will not be served. Passengers are advised to use the Broadway stops instead.
Bridgeway, Cuddington : Saturday 28th March 2020. Due to to works on behalf of Thames Water the 110 bus will divert on this day. Passengers are advised that the following places will not be served:
- Chearsley Village.
- The ‘Green’ stop in Cuddington, please use the stop on Dadbrook instead.
- The Chearsley Road stops in Long Crendon, please use the stops on Bicester Road or Chilton Road instead.
Bus Stop Suspensions
Fowler Road, Aylesbury : Monday 13th January 2020 to Wednesday 25th March 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works road widening works as part of the Oxford Road corridor improvement scheme the ‘Fowler Road’ stop for journeys from town (nearest to the junction of the Oxford Road) will be suspended for this period. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Prebendal Farm Shops’ stop instead.
Addison Road, Steeple Claydon : Tuesday 18th February to Friday 26th June 2020. Due to development works the stops near the junction of Vicarage Road will be suspended during this period. Passengers are advised to use the temporary stops, provided away from the works, instead.
High Street, Great Missenden : Friday 20th to Tuesday 24th March 2020. Due to Affinity Water works the two ‘Whitefield Lane’ stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the stops at the top of the High Street near the junction with Link Road instead.
Bowerdean Road, High Wycombe : Monday 23rd March 2020, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to Thames Water works the ‘Bowerdean Crossroads’ stop for journeys away from town. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Acorn Close’ stop further along Bowerdean Road or the stops on Totteridge Road instead.
Collinswood Road, Farnham Common : Monday 23rd to Friday 27th March 2020. Due to works on behalf of BT Openreach the two ‘Harehatch Lane’ stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Yew Tree PH’ stops instead.
Beaconsfield Road, Farnham Common : Wednesday 25th to Tuesday 31st March 2020. Due to Thames Water works the ‘Royal Oak PH’ stop for journeys towards Slough will be suspended on these dates. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Templewood Lane’ or ‘Hedgerley Corner’ stops instead.
West Wycombe Road, High Wycombe : Wednesday 25th to Monday 30th March 2020, 7pm to 6am. Due to Thames Water works both ‘Riverside’ stops will be suspended on these nights. Passengers are advised to use the Bus Station instead.
High Street, Iver : Wednesday 25th March 2020 to Wednesday 8th April 2020. Due to Cadent Gas works the ‘Chequers Orchard’ stop will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘King’s Church’ instead.
