Bus stop suspensions and service diversions for the week ahead – Monday 13th April 2020
Week commencing Monday 13th April 2020 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.
Due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic there are a number of changes to Bus Services in Buckinghamshire. Details of affected services and revised timetables can be found on the Buckinghamshire Council website.
Easter bank holiday services
Most bus companies will be operating the Sunday timetables of their revised services on the following days:
- Friday 10th April 2020 (Good Friday)
- Monday 13th April 2020 (Easter Monday)
- Friday 8th May 2020 (Early May bank holiday – VE day)
- Monday 25th May 2020 (Spring bank holiday)
Bus routes that don’t have a Sunday timetable are unlikely to operate, however passengers are advised to check with your bus company before travelling.
Bus Diversions
Bowerdean Road, High Wycombe : Wednesday 8th to Wednesday 15th April 2020. Due to urgent Thames Water repairs part of this road will be closed just north of the Totteridge Road junction. As such services 41 will divert via Amersham Hill and will not serve stops on Totteridge Road, Bowerdean Road or Arnison Avenue. Service 31 will continue along Totteridge Road and divert via Totteridge Lane missing the stops on Bowerdean Road, Arnison Avenue and the ‘Crossroads’ stops on Amersham Road.
Chinnor Road, Bledlow Ridge : Tuesday 14th April 2020, 8.00am to 4.00pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed between the A40 West Wycombe and Haw Lane. Bus route 275 will divert via Haw Lane and the A4010 during these times and will not serve stops on Chorley Road, Loxboro Hill or Chinnor Road after the ‘Old Post Office’ stops.
Bus Stop Suspensions
Addison Road, Steeple Claydon : Tuesday 18th February 2020 to Friday 26th June 2020. Due to development works the stops near the junction of Vicarage Road will be suspended during this period. Passengers are advised to use the temporary stops, provided away from the works, instead.
A41, Westcott : Monday 30 March to Friday 8th May 2020. Due to works to construct a roundabout both ‘Westcott Turn’ bus stops will be suspended during this period.
A413, London Road, Chalfont St Giles : Monday 6th to Friday 24th April 2020. Due to works on behalf of HS2 the ‘King’s Road’ stop for journeys towards Amersham will be suspended during this period. Passengers are advised to use the next stop along the London Road, just before the Vets.
Desborough Avenue, High Wycombe : Monday 6th to Tuesday 14th April 2020. Due to Cadent Gas works the two ‘Rupert Avenue’ stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers for route 28 are advised to use the stops on Lancaster Road. For services 158 and 800/850 please used the stops on Marlow Road (either side of the junction with Cressex Road).
Holmers Farm Way, High Wycombe : Friday 10th to Tuesday 14th April 2020, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to Thames Water works the ‘Alford Road’ stop for journeys into the town centre will be suspended at these times. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Westwood’ stop instead further back along Holmers Farm Way.
A418, Aylesbury Road, Bierton : Tuesday 14th to Monday 20th April 2020. Due to Thames Water works the ‘Hulcott Lane’ stop from Aylesbury will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Bell PH’ stop instead.
Hughenden Avenue, High Wycombe : Wednesday 15th to Friday 17th April 2020. Due to works on behalf of BT Openreach the stop for journeys towards the town centre will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Beaconsfield Arms’ stop on the Hughenden Road instead.
Dashwood Avenue, High Wycombe : Thursday 16th April 2020, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to Buckinghamshire Council works the ‘Oakridge Road’ stop towards the town centre will be suspended at these times. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Green Street’ bus stop instead.
