Bus stop suspensions and service diversions for the week ahead – Monday 20th April 2020

Week commencing Monday 20th April 2020 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic there are a number of changes to Bus Services in Buckinghamshire. Details of affected services and revised timetables can be found on the Buckinghamshire Council website.

Bus Diversions

Desborough Avenue, High Wycombe : Wednesday 8th to Friday 24th April 2020. Due to emergency Cadent Gas works part of this road will be closed just above the Marlow Road junction. Buses will divert via Lancaster Road, Coronation Road and Cressex Road. As such the two ‘Rupert Avenue’ stops will not be served on these days and passengers are advised to use the stops on Lancaster Road instead.

Hughenden Road, High Wycombe : Tuesday 21st to Wednesday 22nd April 2020 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to urgent Transport for Buckinghamshire repairs this road will be closed during these times and route 300 and the Tuesday 333 / 334 will need to divert via Hughenden Avenue, Hughenden Boulevard and Coates Lane and will not serve the stop opposite Coates Lane.

Friarage Road / Oxford Road / Gatehouse Road roundabout, Aylesbury : Monday 20th to Friday 24th April 2020. Transport for Buckinghamshire will be undertaking surfacing works and the roundabout will be closed on these days. Buses will need to divert and the stops at ‘White Hill’, ‘TA Centre’, ‘College’, ‘Churchill Avenue’ ‘Pearson Close’ on Oxford Road and the first stop on Friarage Road near Castle Street will not be served. Buses will divert as follows:

  • All services that usually operate via White Hill towards town will divert via New Street, Upper Hundreds Way, Exchange Street and Station Way.
  • All services entering Aylesbury from Stone will operate via Coldharbour Way, Griffin Lane and Bicester Road (and the above revised route in the town centre). Please note this includes Silver rider 1 which will operate a revised timetable during this closure (see link below).
  • Journeys to Southcourt / Walton Court operate via Walton Street and Stoke Road and then via Prebendal Avenue or Taylor Road to resume normal route. There will be a revised timetable on service 10 and 11.
  • Revised timetables on the Silver rider 1, service 10 and service 11 will be in operation during this period. Please note even if the works finish early these services will still run these timetables until the end of Friday 24th April 2020.

Bus Stop Suspensions

Addison Road, Steeple Claydon : Tuesday 18th February to Friday 26th June 2020. Due to development works the stops near the junction of Vicarage Road will be suspended during this period. Passengers are advised to use the temporary stops, provided away from the works, instead.

A41, Westcott : Monday 30th March2020  to Friday 8th May 2020. Due to works to construct a roundabout both ‘Westcott Turn’ bus stops will be suspended during this period.

A413, London Road, Chalfont St Giles : Monday 6th to Friday 24th April 2020. Due to works on behalf of HS2 the ‘King’s Road’ stop for journeys towards Amersham will be suspended during this period. Passengers are advised to use the next stop along the London Road, just before the Vets.

A418, Aylesbury Road, Bierton : Tuesday 14th to Monday 20th April 2020. Due to Thames Water works the ‘Hulcott Lane’ stop from Aylesbury will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Bell PH’ stop instead.

Botley Road, Chesham : Tuesday 14th to Tuesday 21st April 2020. Due to Cadent Gas works the two ‘Lee Farm Close’ stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers can use the ‘Hen & Chickens PH’ stops instead.

A41, Tring Road, Aylesbury : Friday 17th to Tuesday 21st April 2020. Due to works on behalf of Openreach the ‘Bedgrove Lights’ stop for journeys away from town will be suspended during these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Broughton Brook’ stop further back along the Tring Road.

Framewood Road, Stoke Poges : Monday 20th April 2020, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to works on behalf of Openreach the two ‘Mill House Farm’ stops will be suspended between these times. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Fulmer Grange’ stops instead.

Simmons Way, Lane End : Monday 20h to Wednesday 22nd April 2020. Due to Thames Water works the stop towards High Wycombe just adjacent to Philps Close will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Slayter Road’ stop further along Simmons Way instead.

Henley Road, Marlow : Saturday 25th to Monday 27th April 2020. Due to works on behalf of Openreach the two ‘Dog and Badger PH’ stops will be suspended on these days.
