Bus stop suspensions and service diversions for the week ahead – Monday 18th May 2020

Week commencing Monday 18th May 2020 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic there are a number of changes to Bus Services in Buckinghamshire. Details of affected services and revised timetables can be found on the Buckinghamshire Council website.

Bus Diversions

Bois Moor Road, Chesham : Thursday 14th to Tuesday 19th May 2020. Due to urgent Affinity Water works part of this road will be closed during this period. After serving Pheasant Ride and Chessmount Rise bus routes 71 and 73 will turn back along Waterside and divert via the Amersham Road and Rickmansworth Road. As such stops on Bois Lane and Bois Moor Road will not be served.

Whielden Street / Whielden Lane, Amersham : Monday 18th May 2020 to Saturday 4th July 2020. Due to a road closure buses will need to divert via the A413 and Gore Hill and will not serve stops on The Broadway, Whielden Street or the Hospital stops on Whielden Lane. For passengers needing to travel to Amersham Hospital a shuttle bus will operate between Gore Hill and the Hospital meeting 1 / 1A journeys. Church Street, Wingrave : Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th May 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed on these days. Service 165 will not be able to serve the Church Street stop and passengers are advised to use the stops on Winslow Road instead.

A41, Tring Road, Aylesbury : Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th May 2020, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to urgent Transport for Buckinghamshire road repairs this road will be closed between King Edward Avenue and Bedgrove during these times. Buses will divert as follows:

  • Service 61 will divert via King Edward Avenue, Wendover Road, Camborne Avenue and Bedgrove (and vice versa towards town).
  • Service 164 & 500 will divert via Walton Street, Wendover Road, Camborne Avenue and Bedgrove (and vice versa towards town) and will not serve stops on Tring Road or the High Street.

Littleworth Road, Downley : Monday 18th to Friday 22nd May 2020. Due to works to repair a sewer this road will be closed during this period. Bus route 30 will divert via Plomer Green Lane and will not serve stops on High Street, Commonside or Littleworth Road on these days.

Chearsley Road, Long Crendon : Monday 18th to Friday 22nd May 2020. Due to Thames Water works this road will be closed on these days. As such bus route 110 and the 1745 from Aylesbury route 111 journey will need to divert via Dadbrook in Cuddington and the A418. As such passengers are advised that:

  • Chearsley Village will not be served during these days.
  • The ‘Green’ stops in Cuddington will not be served. Passengers are advised to use the stops on Dadbrook instead.
  • In Long Crendon stops on Chearsley Road, Chilton Road and Carters Lane will not be served. Passengers are advised to use the stops on the Bicester Road instead.

Bus Stop Suspensions

Addison Road, Steeple Claydon : Tuesday 18th February 2020 to Friday 26th June 2020. Due to development works the stops near the junction of Vicarage Road will be suspended during this period. Passengers are advised to use the temporary stops, provided away from the works, instead.

A413 Amersham Road, Chalfont St Giles : Tuesday 17th March 2020 to Wednesday 1st July 2020. Due to works on behalf of HS2 both ‘Cherry Acre’ and the ‘Green Meadows’ stop towards Gerrards Cross will be suspended during this period. Please use the ‘Misbourne Avenue’ or ‘King’s Road’ stops instead.

A41 Aston Clinton Road, Aylesbury : Monday 11th to Friday 22nd May 2020. Due to Thames Water works the two stops nearest the roundabout to the bypass will be suspended during this period. The nearest alternative stops are by the Peugeot Garage.

Totteridge Road, High Wycombe : Tuesday 12th to Tuesday 19th May 2020. Due to Thames Water works the ‘Bowerdean Crossroads stop for journeys towards the town centre will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Lucas Road’ stop instead.

Chapel Street, Marlow : Monday 18 to Wednesday 20th May 2020. Due to Thames Water works the ‘Spittal Street’ stop for journeys towards Henley will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Foxes Piece’ stop on Little Marlow Road instead.

Amersham Road, High Wycombe : Monday 18th to Wednesday 20th May 2020. Due to Thames Water works the two ‘Amersham Hill Drive’ stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘May 2020brook Gardens’ stops instead.

Bicester Road, Aylesbury : Monday 18th to Tuesday 26th May 2020. Due to Thames Water works the two ‘West Street’ stops will be suspended during this period. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Royal Bucks Hospital’ stops instead.

London Road, High Wycombe : Tuesday 19th to Thursday 21st May 2020. Due to works on behalf of Openreach, both ‘Chestnut Avenue’ stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Hatters Lane’ stops instead.

Chorley Road, West Wycombe : Tuesday 19th to Thursday 21st May 2020. Due to Thames Water works the two ‘Chorley Road’ stops near the junction of Loxboro Hill will be suspended. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Cockshoot Farm’ stops, further along Chorley Road, instead.

A4010 Wycombe Road, Saunderton : Wednesday 20th to Wednesday 27th May 2020. Due to Thames Water works the two ‘Golden Cross’ stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Ministry Wharf’ stops instead.

Totteridge Road, High Wycombe : Thursday 21st May 2020, 9.30 to 11.30am. Due to works to replace a sewer cover the two ‘Duke Street’ stops will be suspended during these hours. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Lucas Road’ stops instead.
