Fire broke out in a commercial property in the High Street, Aylesbury

Fire broke out in a commercial property in the High Street, Aylesbury during the evening of Monday 25th May 2020.

At 7.40pm firefighters were called to the incident in a mid-terrace property. Three fire appliances with crews attended from Aylesbury fire station and two from Thame fire station. Three officers also attended.

Two hose reels, four sets of breathing apparatus, two fans and a tool kit were used by the firefighters during the operation to extinguish the fire.

The fire damaged around 20% of the ground floor of the building while the ground, first and second floors were 100% damaged by smoke. Neighbouring properties suffered light smoke damage.

A man who was suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke was left in the care of South Central Ambulance Service.

At 9.45pm the firefighters left the scene, however they reinspected the building at 11.00pm.
