UPDATED 12/07/2020 : COVID-19 news updates for High Wycombe and South Buckinghamshire – June 2020

| June 1, 2020

News updates on COVID-19 in High Wycombe and South Buckinghamshire.

More recent news updates, after Tuesday 30th June 2020, can be found at the link here.

The cumulative and weekly rate of COVID-19 cases per 100,000 population tested under Pillar 1 tests (those carried out in NHS laboratories) and Pillar 2 (testing by commercial partners of the mass-testing programme) for the upper-tier local authority of Buckinghamshire is shown in the table below. Data in this format was first published publicly on Thursday 25th June 2020. Not all those with the virus will have been tested so the actual figure may be higher.

Date Published
Cumulative rate of cases Weekly rate of cases
Thursday 9th July 2020 309.8 5.7
Thursday 2nd July 2020 304.2 3.5
Thursday 25th June 2020 300.9 6.1

* Please Note

From Thursday 2nd July 2020 Public Health England changed the methodology for the way the daily totals for the recorded confirmed cases of Coronavirus in England are reported to remove duplicates within and across tests under pillar 1 (those carried out in NHS laboratories) and pillar 2 (those carried out in NHS laboratories), to ensure that a person who tests positive is only counted once.

As a result of this change and a revision of historical data in pillar 1, the cumulative total for positive cases in Buckinghamshire and its former administrative areas has changed compared to the daily figures in the totals for Wednesday 1st July 2020.

The figures given below for dates on and after Thursday 2nd July 2020 now include those identified with confirmed cases of Coronavirus by testing in all settings, i.e. both pillar 1 and pillar 2.

For the daily totals on and before Wednesday 1st July 2020 the figures do not include pillar 2 test data. Only pillar 1 tests (those carried out in NHS laboratories) is shown in the data. The actual numbers shown are therefore likely to be significantly lower than they actually are.

Not all those with the virus will have been tested so the actual figure may be higher.
