Bus stop suspensions and service diversions for the week ahead – Monday 29th June 2020

Week commencing Monday 29th June 2020 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic there are a number of changes to Bus Services in Buckinghamshire. Details of affected services and revised timetables can be found on the Buckinghamshire Council website.

Bus Diversions

Whielden Street / Whielden Lane, Amersham : Monday 18th May 2020 to Monday 31st August 2020. Due to a road closure buses will need to divert via the A413 and Gore Hill and will not serve stops on The Broadway, Whielden Street or the Hospital stops on Whielden Lane. For passengers needing to travel to Amersham Hospital a shuttle bus will operate between Gore Hill and the Hospital meeting 1 / 1A journeys. Whaddon Road, Newton Longville : Monday 8th June 2020 to Monday 27th July 2020. Due to East-West Rail works this road will be closed during this period. All route 50 buses will enter Newton Longville via Westbrook Avenue and will turn back round at the Crooked Billet. Bus stops on Whaddon Road will not be served.

Chearsley Road, Long Crendon : Monday 22nd June 2020 to Tuesday 7th July 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed during this period. From Aylesbury bus route 110 (and the evening 111 journey) will run as normal until Cuddington which it will enter via Cuddington Road / Aylesbury Road, turn down Dadbrook and then divert via the A418 and B4011 into Long Crendon. As such the following areas will not be served:

• Chearsley Village.
• Chearsley Road, Chilton Road or Carters Lane in Long Crendon – please use the stops on the Square or the Bicester Road instead.
• ‘The Green’ stops in Cuddington – please use Dadbrook Road instead.
• The Thame bound ‘Dinton Castle’ stop please use the 280 bus service instead.

Wycombe Road, Prestwood : Tuesday 30th June 2020, 8.30am to 7.00pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed between these days. From High Wycombe bus route 41 will operate as normal as far as ‘The Common’ stops in Great Kingshill. After this the buses will divert via Heath End Road and Little Kingshill entering Great Missenden via the A413. After serving Great Missenden the buses will continue to Prestwood and turn back round at Lodge Lane and Nairdwood Lane and resume the journey back to High Wycombe via Great Missenden. As such stops between The Common, Great Kingshill and Lodge Lane in Prestwood will not be served.

Kings Lane, South Heath : Monday 29th June 2020 to Thursday 2nd July 2020. Due to works on behalf of HS2 this road will be closed on these days. Bus routes 177 and 190 will not serve stops along here during this period and passengers are advised to use the stops on Ballinger Road instead.

A404, Whielden Lane, Amersham : Monday 29th June 2020 to Saturday 4th July 2020, 9.00pm to 5.00am. Due this closure for works on behalf of HS2, the last bus towards High Wycombe will need to divert via the A355 to Beaconsfield and the London Road into High Wycombe. As such this journey will not serve stops in Old Amersham, Holmer Green, Hazlemere or the Amersham Road in High Wycombe.

Page Hill Avenue / A422 Stratford Road Roundabout, Buckingham : Monday 29th June 2020 to Sunday 5th July 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works the roundabout will be closed from the A413 junction and including a small section of Page Hill. As such buses will not be able to serve the Stratford Road stops on these days.

Woodway, Lacey Green : Tuesday 30th June 2020, 9.00am to 7.00pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed on this day. Bus route 300 will divert via the A4010 and Bradenham Wood Lane, and will not serve stops on Woodway, in Lacey Green or on New Road, Walters Ash between these times.

Ickford Road, Shabbington : Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd July 2020, 8.30am to 7.00pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed on these days. As such service 110 will divert and will not be able to serve Ickford and Worminghall on these days.

Addison Road, Steeple Claydon : Wednesday 1st July 2020 to Wednesday 4th September. Due to works on a development this road will be closed between Vicarage Road and Calvert. All stops will be served but bus route 16 will operate a slightly amended timetable between this period.

Ivy Lane, Great Brickhill : Friday 3rd July 2020, 7.00am to 7.00pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed between these times. Bus route 162 will divert via Stoke Hammond and will not serve Great Brickhill on this day.

Bus Stop Suspensions

A413 Amersham Road, Chalfont St Giles : Tuesday 17th March to Wednesday 1st July 2020. Due to works on behalf of HS2 both ‘Cherry Acre’ and the ‘Green Meadows’ stop towards Gerrards Cross will be suspended during this period. Please use the ‘Misbourne Avenue’ or ‘King’s Road’ stops instead.
