Bus stop suspensions and service diversions for the week ahead – Monday 21st September 2020

Week commencing Monday 21st September 2020 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic there are a number of changes to Bus Services in Buckinghamshire. Details of affected services and revised timetables can be found on the Buckinghamshire Council website.

Bus Diversions

Whielden Street / Whielden Lane, Amersham : Monday 18th May 2020 to Monday 30th November 2020. Due to a road closure buses will need to divert via the A413 and Gore Hill and will not serve stops on The Broadway, Whielden Street or the Hospital stops on Whielden Lane. For passengers needing to travel to Amersham Hospital a shuttle bus will operate between Gore Hill and the Hospital. Please see the Amersham Hospital shuttle timetable for details.

Ivy Lane, Great Brickhill : Monday 6th July to Friday 25th September 2020. Due to urgent bridge repairs this road will be closed during this period. From Leighton Buzzard, bus route 162 will divert via Stoke Hammond, the A4146 and Galley Lane, entering Great Brickhill from the north, serving stops on Rotten Row and Pound Hill and then turning up Lower Road to resume the journey to Bletchley (and vice versa towards Leighton Buzzard). The ‘Three Locks’ stops will not be served during this time.

Buckingham Road, Bletchley : Monday 6th July to Monday 7th December 2020. Due to East-West Rail works by the bridge this road will be closed during this period and Z&S Transport route 50 will divert. From Buckingham Road, the buses will travel via Sherwood Drive, Whalley Drive, Rickley Lane, Whaddon Way, Watling Street and Standing Way to rejoin the normal route at Saxon Street (and vice versa). As such this service will not serve Bletchley Bus Station, passengers for here are advised to alight at the ‘Railway Station’ stops on Sherwood Drive and follow the signs to the bus station.

Missenden Road / Church Street, Chesham : Monday 24th August 2020 to Friday 9th October 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works on this junction the 177 Tuesday and Thursday bus will divert during this period. After serving Hyde Heath buses will turn back round at the junction with Frieth Hill and will not serve stops on Missenden Road or Church Street.

Mentmore Road and High Street, Cheddington : Monday 21st to Tuesday 22nd September 2020, 9.30am to 3.00pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works these roads will be closed between these times. Bus route 164 will divert via Ivinghoe, B488 and Station Road and will be unable to serve Cheddington.

Lycrome Road, Chesham : Monday 21st September 2020, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to Openreach works this road will be closed between these hours. Carousel’s route 1 journeys to and from Hemel Hempstead will need to divert via Lye Green Road and Eskdale Avenue will not serve stops on Berkhampstead Road, Nashleigh Hill and Lycrome Road.

Boundary Road, High Wycombe : Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd September 2020, 7.00am to 7.00pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed on these days between Station Road and Knaves Beech Way. Arriva’s service 37 will divert via Knaves Beech Way and the A40 and will not serve the stops on Station Road or the ‘Lammas Way’ stops on Boundary Road.

Spearing Road, High Wycombe : Monday 21st to Thursday 24th September 2020, 7.00am to 7.00pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed on these days. Arriva’s bus route 33 / S33 will divert via Rutland Avenue and will be unable to serve the three stops on Spearing Road.

Lansdowne Road, Chesham : Tuesday 22nd September 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed on this day. Buses 1A and route 78 will divert via The Greenway and Vale Road. Stops on Addison Road, Lansdowne Road, Lynton Road, Lyndhurst Road and the ‘Windsor Road’ stop on Upper Belmont Road will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Hope Church’ stops on Upper Belmont Road or the stops on Vale Road / Berkhamstead Road instead.

High Street, Aylesbury : Wednesday 23rd to Tuesday 29th September 2020, 7.00pm to 6.00am. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed between Exchange Street and Tring Road. Evening and early morning journeys on routes 61 and 500 will need to divert via Walton Street and Walton Road. As such they will not serve the stops on Exchange Street or on the High Street between these times.

Bus Stop Suspensions

Aylesbury Road, Wendover : Tuesday 18th August 2020 to Sunday 25th October 2020. Due to works on behalf of UKPN the ‘Village Gate’ stop for journeys towards Aylesbury, will be suspended during this period. The nearest alternatives is the ‘Nursing home’ stop on Worlds End Lane or the ‘Castle Park Farm’ stop on Aylesbury Road.

A40 West Wycombe Road, High Wycombe : Monday 14th to Tuesday 22nd September 2020. Due to Thames Water works the ‘Desborough Park Road’ stop towards the town centre will be suspended during this period. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Mill End Road’ stop instead.

Martinsend Lane, Great Missenden : Monday 21st to Friday 25th September 2020. Due to works on behalf of BT the stop adjacent to Grimms Hill will be suspended during these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Broomfield Hill’ stop instead.

Amersham Road, High Wycombe : Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd September 2020, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to tree cutting works the ‘May 2020brook Gardens’ stop towards High Wycombe will be suspended at these times. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Amersham Hill Drive’ stop instead.
