Green Homes Grant could help households save on their energy bills
The Green Homes Grant scheme sees the government fund up to two-thirds of the cost of energy-saving home improvements for homeowners in England up to £5,000.
The scheme, which was launched on Wednesday 30th September 2020, can help homeowners with low incomes, including those on certain benefits, are eligible for a grant covering up to 100% of the cost of works up to £10,000.
The scheme is aimed at improving the energy efficiency of over 600,000 homes across the country and help households save up to £600 a year on their energy bills.
Grants through the scheme can be used for energy-efficiency upgrades such as:
- Cavity wall insulation
- Loft insulation
- Solid wall insulation
- Under-floor insulation
- Biomass boiler
- Ground source heat pump
- Hybrid heat pump
- Solar thermal
Bill Chapple OBE, Cabinet Member for Environment and Climate Change, said: ‘Buckinghamshire Council is committed to tackling climate change issues and improving air quality in Buckinghamshire. Increasing the energy efficiency of homes in the county is one way that we can achieve this.
