Bus stop suspensions and service diversions for the week ahead – Monday 12th October 2020

Week commencing Monday 12th October 2020 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Bus Diversions

Whielden Street / Whielden Lane, Amersham : Monday 18th May to Monday 30th November 2020. Due to a road closure buses will need to divert via the A413 and Gore Hill and will not serve stops on The Broadway, Whielden Street or the Hospital stops on Whielden Lane. For passengers needing to travel to Amersham Hospital a shuttle bus will operate between Gore Hill and the Hospital. Please see the Amersham Hospital shuttle timetable for details.

Ivy Lane, Great Brickhill : Monday 6th July 2020 to Friday 30th October 2020. Due to urgent bridge repairs this road will be closed during this period. From Leighton Buzzard, bus route 162 will divert via Stoke Hammond, the A4146 and Galley Lane, entering Great Brickhill from the north, serving stops on Rotten Row and Pound Hill and then turning up Lower Road to resume the journey to Bletchley (and vice versa towards Leighton Buzzard). The ‘Three Locks’ stops will not be served during this time.

Buckingham Road, Bletchley : Monday 6th July 2020 to Monday 7th December 2020. Due to East-West Rail works by the bridge this road will be closed during this period and Z&S Transport route 50 will divert. From Buckingham Road, the buses will travel via Sherwood Drive, Whalley Drive, Rickley Lane, Whaddon Way, Watling Street and Standing Way to rejoin the normal route at Saxon Street (and vice versa). As such this service will not serve Bletchley Bus Station, passengers for here are advised to alight at the ‘Railway Station’ stops on Sherwood Drive and follow the signs to the bus station.

Missenden Road / Church Street, Chesham : Monday 24th August 2020 to Wednesday 23rd December 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works on this junction the 177 Tuesday and Thursday bus will divert during this period. After serving Hyde Heath buses will turn back round at the junction with Frieth Hill and will not serve stops on Missenden Road or Church Street.

Horton Road, Ivinghoe : Monday 5th October 2020 to Friday 27th November 2020. Due to works on the canal bridge this road will be closed during this period. After picking up at Ivinghoe the Green the school time 164 journeys will divert via the B488, upper Icknield Way, Vicarage Road, Cheddington Road and resuming normal route at High Street Cheddington. Please see the revised timetable for service 883. Please note routes will not be able to serve stops on Horton Road, Station Road, Ivinghoe or Cheddington Station.

Forty Green Road, Forty Green : Tuesday 13th October 2020, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to Thames Water works this road will be closed between these times. Bus route 377 will be unable to serve Forty Green on this day.

Station Road, Marsh Gibbon : Friday 16th October 2020 to Tuesday 3rd November 2020 (24/7). Due to East-West rail works near the Rail bridge this road will be closed on these days. Bus routes 16 and 18 will run as normal to Twyford then turn at ‘The Crown’ and travel into Marsh Gibbon via Chardon, as such the ‘Manor House’ stops on Bicester Road, Twyford and the ‘Poundon Turn’ stops will not be served on these days.

Bicester Road, Aylesbury : Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th October 2020. Due to UKPN works part of this road, near West Street, will be closed on this weekend. Bus routes will divert via Gatehouse Road and stops between Buckingham Road and Gatehouse Road will not be served.

Bus Stop Suspensions

Aylesbury Road, Wendover : Tuesday 18th August 2020 to Sunday 25th October 2020. Due to works on behalf of UKPN the ‘Village Gate’ stop for journeys towards Aylesbury, will be suspended during this period. The nearest alternatives is the ‘Nursing home’ stop on Worlds End Lane or the ‘Castle Park Farm’ stop on Aylesbury Road.

Martinsend Lane, Great Missenden : Friday 9th to Thursday 15th October 2020. Due to urgent UKPN works the two stops near Grimms Hill will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Broomfield Hill’ stops instead.

High Street, Aylesbury : Monday 12th to Friday 13th October 2020. Due to UKPN works the ‘Vale Park’ stop for journeys away from town will be suspended during this period. Passengers are advised to use the Exchange Street stops instead.

A4010 Aylesbury Road, Monks Risborough : Monday 12th October 2020, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to works on behalf of Openreach the two ‘Holloway’ stops will be suspended between these times. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Peter’s Lane’ stops instead.

Chapel Street and Dean Street, Marlow : Tuesday 13th to Saturday 17th October 2020. Due to Cadent Gas works the Dean Street Car Park stop and the ‘Spittal Street’ stop for journeys towards Henley will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the stop further along Dean Street, for journeys towards High Wycombe, or the ‘Foxes Piece’ stop on Little Marlow Road for journeys towards Henley.

Bradenham Road, West Wycombe : Tuesday 13th October 2020, 9.30am to 3.30pm. due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works in the vicinity the two Bradenham Road stops will be suspended between these times.

Marroway, Weston Turville : Wednesday 14th October 2020, 8am to 5pm. Due to UKPN works in the vicinity the stop near the Wendover Road junction for journeys towards Aylesbury will be suspended between these times. Passengers are advised that the nearest available stop is the ‘Weston Turville Turn’ stop on the Wendover Road and to take care when crossing the road.
