The Buckinghamshire WI are unveiling a new book to celebrate their centenary.
The Buckinghamshire Village Book is compiled by the Buckinghamshire Federation of the Women’s Institutes to celebrate 100 years since their launch in 1920 and in association with publisher Countryside Books.
The Buckinghamshire Village Book (ISBN 978 184674 3948 – price £12) gathers together descriptions and illustrations of over 100 villages, recalling the history, people and events that make each one unique and how their collective identity has shaped Buckinghamshire as a county.
Pat Poole, the WI’s county chairman, co-ordinated the project for the WI and has organized an Autumn ‘Gifts Galore’ shopping event on Wednesday 28th October 2020 to launch the book to members.
